Earlier options included Jitsi Meet, Boltstream, Vimeo, NPTEL, Mux and AWS MediaConvert. Jitsi was discussed for self-hosted live conferencing, with branding limitations; Boltstream came up for capture and hosting. Mux’s API received praise, but cost was a concern, and AWS transcoding was described as expensive in one setup.

Later discussions added Videocrypt, which was the cheapest in one team’s comparison with AWS and Cloudflare. Mux was also suggested for abstracting streaming and transcoding. BanyanBoard was presented by its provider as a white-label LMS with annotation and collaboration. These options serve different needs, so compare live conferencing, recorded-video delivery and LMS features separately.
